  1. This archive is a copy of the 1.46 install disk. If unarj'ed onto a floppy - it is identical to the shipped install disk.

  3. Quick instructions:
  4.  
  5. Make sure headphones or speakers are connected to the PAS16 so the Quick Start
  6. program can output a verbal message.
  7.  
  8. 1. Insert the install disk into the floppy drive.
  9.  
  10. 2. assuming the floppy is a:, type:
  11.     A:[ENTER]
  12.     INSTALL[enter]
  13.  
  14. 3. For a 1st time install, select "Install Hardware and Software"
  15.  
  16. 4. Select a directory to store the PAS16 software. The default is C:\PROAUDIO.
  17.    Use the backspace key to change the destination, if desired.
  18.  
  19. 5. At this point, the Quick Start program copies the files to the directory
  20.    chosen in step 4.
  21.  
  22. 6. A configuration screen is presented.
  23.  
  24. 7. When the configuration is complete, highlight the "Accept the Configuration
  25.    shown above" and press Enter.
  26.  
  27. 8. Reboot in order for the software and drivers to become active.
  28.  
  29.    When you activate Windows after rebooting, a Pocket Utilities group is 
  30.    automatically created.
  31.  
  32. IMPORTANT: The Quick Start program installs both DOS and Windows utility
  33. programs for settign volume and controlling mixing. However, it does not
  34. install the Windows versions unless Windows 3.1 is installed on your system.

  36. To change hardware settings for Windows:
  37. 1. From the Program Manager, select the Main group.
  38.  
  39. 2. Click on the Control Panel icon.
  40.  
  41. 3. Click on the Drivers icon.
  42.  
  43. 4. Highlight the "Pro Audio/CDPC/WAVE/MIDI/AUX" driver. Click on Setup.
  44.  
  45. 5. Select the appropriate DMA and IRQ. Any numbers greyed-out are unavailable.
  46.  
  47. 6. Restart Windows to cause new drivers to become active.
